非洲政壇，女性出頭天
Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf在2006年當選為賴比瑞亞總統，成為首位非洲女性總統。從那之後，其他非洲女性也相繼決定參選總統，例如近來在貝南、喀麥隆、迦納、幾內亞、剛果民主共合國與尼日等國均有類似情況出現。
